Hello Community,

I am confronted with this case. Any thoughts on it?

“Mobility AG is an established automotive manufacturer facing major structural changes. The traditional business model is to be supplemented by new digital business models. This realignment of Mobilität AG requires significant changes in the management structure, functional management, responsibilities and the principles of Group management. In addition, the controlling methods used to date must be put to the test. As a member of a consulting team, you will analyze the upcoming challenges and support the realignment of the controlling concept and methods.”

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on trying to solve even such rather unusual case studies!

This is indeed an interesting question which is probably relevant for quite a lot of users, so I am happy to provide my perspective on it:

  • Generally speaking, whatever case (study) you are approaching, I would highly advise you to remember that it is less about knowing what to do (i.e. business knowledge) and more about knowing how to do it (i.e. business judgement and structuring).
  • For instance, for this case study, I would advise you to think about what steps you would need to undertake to identify the upcoming challenges (i.e. where might they lie? what might they be?) and ways how to tackle them (i.e. how to address them?). Please feel free to contact me directly in case you would want to discuss your approach with me.

In case you want a more detailed discussion on how to solve any type of case study, please feel free to contact me directly.

I hope this helps,

Hagen

Hi there,

Whenever I come across a digital transformation case, I personally like to use People, Processes, and Tools/Technology as a framework.

That is, how do I make sure that I have the right people in the right places working in the right/optimal ways with the right tools that support them?

Hello Anon,

interesting case, even though I must say it seems pretty generic and straight forward.

What exactly do you need help with? If you get more specific, I’m sure myself and others will be able to offer more helpful advice.

Thanks

Stephan
