BCG Final Round call-back

Hi,

So I had my BCG final round interviews (2) at the beginning of May, and they said the decision will be finalised by May 26th. I haven't received any call from the interviewers; is that a likely sign that they focused on calling successful candidates on Friday?

Hi there,

Q: I haven't received any call from the interviewers; is that a likely sign that they focused on calling successful candidates on Friday?

It doesn’t look very promising but it doesn’t mean you have necessarily failed.

There could be several reasons for the delay:

  1. Interviewers got busy and cannot align
  2. HR got busy and did not manage to call

If you don’t hear back within a few days, it is totally fine to follow up.

Good luck!

Francesco

Hi there,

It's impossible to say. That said, no call isn't a great sign (but not a game over sign). It's absolutely possible they haven't been able to make a final decision yet (need to confirm with partners etc.) or call everyone yet.

Sit tight, it's not over yet! But, make sure you're still networking with and applying to other firms.

Fingers crossed for you!

Hi there,

It doesn't have to mean anything, though I know the wait is frustrating. I also waited for a week and a half and I was quite stressed back then (mostly because I had also denied my previous offers).

Just sit tight and wait. If you want to distract yourself with something, consider applying to more firms.

All the best!

Dear,

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly current BCG's timelines (which probably vary from office to office and are influenced by various circumstantial factors).
Based on what you say, I would suggest doing a follow-up in the middle of next week with the HR Recruiter.

Hi there,

from my experience this is not a negative sign per se. Sit tight and follow-up after a reasonable amount of time (e.g. see Francesco's suggestion).

Best of luck - it is not over until is over :)

Might be that they are running behind schedule. They would also likely call all candidates on the same day - there are usually not that many in the final round that it would have to be spread out over several days. Monday was also a holi in several geographies which might have played into it.

Fingers crossed that you receive positive news!

Hello,

It's difficult to say what exactly this means - it could be that they just called successful candidates on Friday, or it could be that the recruiting team was busy and fell behind, or couldn't agree on their top candidate choices. I would wait out this week, and if you don't hear back by the end of the week, contact their team. Best of luck!

Probably just a sign they missed their own deadline… but give them a call just to be sure. Good luck!
