Hi all, I have a 2 hour Baringa Case Study interview for a Consultant role within the Banking & Capital Markets division coming up and I was wondering if anyone has gone through this interview with Baringa, or at least has done a case study interview. Any tips/guidance would be very much appreciated!
Baringa Case Study Interview

Hi there,
First, good luck!
I recommend the following:
- Remember that most casing tips apply here (i.e. be very clear+focused on the objective, ruthlessly cut out information that doesn't help you meet this objective/question, make sure to thinking + communicate in a structured way, etc. etc.)
- Practice/simulate this as much as possible beforehand...getting a coach to help you run through scenarios + how to react in inevitably challenging moments will do a world of good.
I have a number of written case I'd be more than happy to share with you! What I generally do with my candidates is, give them a written case x hours before our scheduled session (adjust # of hours based on the specific interview they're going to have), and then review their work during the session (as well as talk through tips+tricks to get better).

You'll have the CV review and behavioral/personal experience questions as usual.
Regarding the 2 hour long case study interview, you'll have one hour to prepare your presentation, and then the second hour you will be presenting a few slides designed by you and answering questions.
As far as I understood, the preparation material will have a lot of qualitative info. A few years ago the case would focus on central government.
Some “regular” case preparation material may be useful, particularly if it has a good deal of exhibits. But best material would be regular cases related to Baringa's target industries + written cases.

I had candidates last year interviewing also with Baringa.
You can expect the typical skill testing from other firms as well (i.e., they look for similar things).
Re the 2h case interview - I assume this is a written case interview, but please do check it with the recruiter. If it is, happy to share an example (reach out via DMs).
Best,
Cristian
