Analyze a company financial performance

Hi all,

While join the interviewer led case interview, the interviewer ask me to analyze the company financial performance, but I really do not know which way is the most "MECE" one to structure my answer. Could you please share with me a framework or most usual way that you often do ?

Thank you so much

Hi,

Agree with Jorrit - you need to know the context of the case. On a very high level, you can look at profits and thus revenues and costs, comparing them:

  • With previous years
  • With competitors

There are tons of metrics to assess the financial performance that you can easily find online. But you should apply them depending on the context

Hi,

Without any specific case contest, one could use the profitability framework. Keep in mind that this is a standard framework and should be adjusted based on the case/product/firm.

Also don't forget to compare to competitors and split out in segments.
