I am a first-generation Asian who attended university in the UK. Born and bred in Malaysia, English was my second language until I was 15.
I read Information Engineering at the University of Cambridge. When I decided to apply to top consulting firms, the learning curve was steep without a business background.
I went through three application cycles before landing my role at McKinsey London. I completed hundreds of case practices, attended >50 real interviews, and summered at Bain KL and Roland Berger London (where I received full-time return offers).
