My coaching approach is to provide the candidate with a holistic set of skill sets – both hard skills and soft skills that are required to crack a case interview and get an offer. For single coaching sessions, my goal is to give the candidate a good case that challenges them and mimics a real-life consulting interview environment. This would allow them to get a mockup of a real experience and allow me to give them effective and comprehensive feedback to address gaps in their case solving skills and get the most value out of the session. Having been part of the interview panel in a consulting firm as well as a MBA peer coach, I have a good understanding of what interviewers expect to see in strong candidates.
Eventually I would like to create a package, where I will develop the content by leveraging key insights developed using multiple resources, as well as from real-life work experience as a strategy consultant and interviewer as part of the recruitment panel in a consulting firm. The content will be designed to bridge the gap between an average interviewee to an excellent interview, by showing the candidate a structured approach to problem solving, highlighting the common mistakes to avoid and key areas to focus on to take their case solving to the next level. At the end of every case, I will provide the candidate with extensive structured feedback to elevate their case solving and communication skills.
