Withdraw Application from Bain Portal

Hey,

Keeping it short: I have been trying to reach many consultants over past couple of weeks for my Bain application. With no responses over weeks, today I decided to go ahead and apply anyways.

But 3 hours after submitting my application, I get a message about providing referral. I would like to withdraw this application and start a new one through the referral.

I am unable to find any choice for withdrawal. Will deleting the account, withdraw my application?

Thanks!

Hi there,

If you've submitted in just the past few hours, you should be ok. I would reach out to HR (call) and ask them if you can resubmit your application with a referral (say you made a mistake).

Simultaneously, tell the consultant you just submitted the application and ask him/her what the process would be.

Good luck!

I submitted the application through the recruitment portal, without any connection with HR or anyone. But will try to contact any HR if possible.

Maybe you can get HR contact through your reference

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the referral!

This is indeed an interesting question which is probably relevant for quite a lot of users, so I am happy to provide my perspective on it:

  • Given the time you asked the question I sincerely hope you reached out to the recruiter and asked him/ her to connect your application with the referral made since this is what I would advise you to do.
  • To my knowledge, there is no possibilitiy other than politely asking the recruiter to technically revoke an application. Besides the fact that it would look pretty odd.

In case you want a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare your upcoming Bain interviews, please feel free to contact me directly.

I hope this helps,

Hagen

You should actually ask this to your referral contact.  They may be able to help and to contact directly HR for you.

Hi there,

I agree with Ian, in your case it would be better to contact HR and align with them before taking any action, they should be able to clarify the best way to proceed.

Good luck!

Hello!

If you can contact HR go ahead, but if not, for sure I wouldn´t withdraw it. You can keep it live there and let the referral hopefully work its magic.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara
