Why MBB pays so small?

Hi all,

If MBB is so unique and outstanding why does it pay relatively low(for such selective company).

I live in Belgium, and got whole bunch of no-name companies which pays way more.

What is the point of MBB then? Why would someone choose to get 3-4k euro a month at MBB over 10-15k euro in no-name company?

The short answer is "because they can". All MBB firms have significantly more applicants than they can or want to take, and those applicants accept these wages. Which, by the way, are significantly higher in Belgium than 3-4k (at least for consultants). What these applicants see is a competitive package that offers a competitive salary, but also goes beyond. Some are interested in a diverse, interesting work environment, some are interested in that they never quite run out of things to learn. And then, of course, there is the brand recognition. Almost everyone knows of MBB, and former consultants are highly sought after. It basically guarantees that you will always have a competitive job offer. This can be highly desirable in particular for applicants with a non-traditional background, which might have a hard time finding a job otherwise.

Just some of the many things that MBB offers apart from the salary... I hope this helps!

Hi Alex,

While I don't quite believe those numbers, it's very simple: future investment

Your future payout, job security, ability to drive your own career, etc. are all higher once you've worked at MBB - this comes from brand, training, exposure, networking, etc.

Hi,

Sorry, but I don't believe you

3-4 Eur a month - probably analyst level, after the University

10-15 Eur for a no name company - don't think that you can get it right out of University
