Why MBB doesn't automate digital test results?

Why wouldn't MBB automate their digital test results? (Imbellus, math tests, etc)

If it's pass/fail , why wait 2-3 weeks to receive a result? When you can receive it right after you completed the assessment

Hi Arty,

Because the digital tests are not end-all-be-all. There is still a human element/component to it AND they also holistically assess your candidacy across your overall experience/background, your resume, and your connection to the firm (networking + referral).

The simple answer is: because they don’t have to.

MBB firms like to guard their internal process and immediate feedback in case where test results are not thrown into the mix with other assessments is unnecessarily revealing.

Also, it gives firms no time to calibrate results for a certain set of candidates etc. (if that’s indeed what they wanted to do, which they may not).

I could speculate on a few more specific reasons but my first comment probably captures it quite nicely.

Hi there,

Luckily it is not purely automatic… HR is taking into consideration all other factors and potential of the candidate by screening their CV and Cover letter.

They consider them together with the candidate resume and referal. So knowing if you passed or not would not grant you the interview, and it makes more sense to wait until they have their decision on that.

Hey there,

Because for some offices it's not a clear pass/fail but just one variable to consider amongst many.

Cheers,

Florian
