When do you receive the result of the Imbellus test?

Hi guys,

I completed the Imbellus test on 21st June; however, until now, I have not yet received the result.

Normally, how long does it take to receive the result of the Imbellus test? What should I do? Should I contact the HR team? I am concerned because last time when I tried to contact the HR team of another consulting firm, they told me that it was annoying and it would leave a bad impression on the HR.

Did anybody here wait more than 10 days for the result of the Imbellus test?

Hi there,

the standard reply is within two weeks. Since the deadline already passed for you, I believe they will notify you shortly – McKinsey is probably the company paying more attention to timely replies.

If you don't hear back by Thursday or Friday, you can definitely follow up with HR. There is nothing wrong in asking feedback to HR about your application. Moreover, you will be assessed on your performance on the test only at this stage, so following up won’t affect the outcome.

Hi - I'm wondering what the wording is when McKinsey sends the results of the Imbellus. Asking because, today I received an email telling me that my application would not be progressed - but which made NO MENTION of my Imbellus result. I suspect my test score was not finalised before this week's deadline for the current batch of interviews - so I think my application was probably culled for lack of having a test score. The email I got reads like a standard rejection letter.

But I still want to know if I passed the Imbellus.
Is it probable that I will receive a different email with the result of my Imbellus?

Background: I submitted several applications online, including one for a role at McKinsey. McKinsey sent me a link to take their Imbellus test. It wasn't until I received that link that I began to research McKinsey. I took the test a week ago and felt I did well. (Although I'm sure I would have done better with preparation!) I now understand that - 1. the Solve test is pre-requisite to further interviews, and 2. interviews are conducted in seasonal batches.

Usually it's within 1 week; recently it became a bit longer - basically most candidates get it within 2 weeks as mentioned by André.

However, duration until feedback does not mean anything in terms of your results!
