When do full-time consulting applications typically open in London (MBB, Tier 2 & boutiques)?

Hi everyone! I'm an international incoming undergraduate senior (graduating in 2027) and I'm planning to apply to consulting firms in London this recruitment cycle, ranging from MBB to Tier 2 and boutique firms.

I was wondering if anyone knows when applications typically open for full-time graduate roles in the London offices. I don't know anyone who's gone through recruiting there before, so I'd love to get a better understanding of the timeline and recruiting cycle.

If you've applied in previous years, I'd really appreciate any insights on when applications opened, key deadlines, or anything else I should keep in mind. Thanks!

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • For the full-time graduate roles in London, major consulting firms normally open the applications in summer or early autumn. Because the exact opening dates and deadlines change from year to year and also differ from firm to firm, I would stronlgy advise you to reach out directly to the recruiting departments of the specific London offices, since no one else can seriously tell you this for certain.

You can find more on this topic here: Boutique consulting firms.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare your application files, for your upcoming pre-interview assessments and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

10% off 1st session in August | Ex-McKinsey | Ex-BCG | Ex-Roland Berger

hey!

London full‑time consulting applications open in a predictable pattern every year. For MBB, most roles go live in late August or early September, sometimes with a soft opening in the last week of August. Tier 2 firms usually follow the same rhythm, with some opening slightly earlier in mid‑August. Boutiques vary more, but most still open between mid‑August and late September because they align with the UK graduate hiring cycle. The key point is that London recruiting is front‑loaded into early autumn, and the main deadlines sit in September. You should plan to have your CV and cover letter ready by mid‑August so you can apply as soon as portals open.

Hi there,

London full-time roles have historically opened over summer to early autumn. Dates shift year to year, so treat that as indicative and confirm on each firm's site.

MBB: they typically publish their dates, so go straight to the source for each. For example, McKinsey has a campus application deadlines tool (filter by degree and UK location); BCG lets you create a profile on its UK Associate Jobs page to be notified when roles open.

Boutiques: these rarely follow a fixed calendar, so track the specific ones you care about individually on their own sites, and also send an email to the recruiting team directly: a short, polite ask about this cycle's timeline usually gets a straight answer before dates are public, and puts you on their radar early (this works for MBB too by the way).

Hope it helps and good luck with the applications!

Federico
