We keep hearing about agile, how enterprises should become agile. Can someone plainly explain what consultants mean when they talk about agility. My attempts to learn about agile online were futile. i understand what it is broadly, but would have a difficult time explaining it to a 5 year old.

Honestly? It is basically the latest buzz word that consultants will pitch to earn the next project / contract
More serious answer: Agile here is the same concept as in IT, and self explanatory: we are trying to help the client take in new information faster and operate pivots faster, so they become more nimble. We are trying to get the client to behave like a cheetah instead of a rinoceros
