What does the typical McKinsey case team look like?

How many BA's, Associates, EM's, Partners, etc. are typical per case? When/why would it vary?

Hi,

There is no typical team since it really depends on the type of the project:

  • There is a manager (EM)
  • Many projects are EM+1, meaning there is also associate + BA. EM it that set up can also be leading a work stream
  • Max will be EM+3 for the team - otherwise, it becomes hard to manage
  • There will be an AP, Partner and the Director in different capacities
  • Often there is more than one team on the client
