What does it mean after the first round at Mckinsey?

Hello everyone,

I completed my first round interviews today. 4 hours later I got an email from Mckinsey Recruiting telling me "In preparation to the next stage of your recruiting process, we would like to request your legal name and full mailing address to ensure that any correspondance we may send you is delivered correctly". On the platform it is indicated that I should enter my legal information in order "to move forward with me recruiting proces".

Is this a good sign? Did anyone have a similar email after their first round? What was the outcome?

Thanks

Hey there,

Congrats!

They would not go through the hassle and have you go through the hassle if they did not want to move you to the 2nd round.

Usually, you should get a call from your interviewer or HR first so there seems to be some admin mixup.

Cheers,

Florian

Seems like it - moving forward is usually a good sign and means you are progressing to the next stage. To confirm it however double check with the recruiter

Hi I'm not sure whether this has any causal relationship

but I received the same email a couple of hours after my first round and I passed (known 2 days later).

I do think it's irrelevant because I had my first round on a Friday Afternoon, and the email was sent in mi-night looking like an automatic push of the system.

So try not to over think it!

good luck!

That would be a very awkward way of telling you that you're moving forward. Follow their instructions, but to know your results you really have to wait for official feedback.

Well that sounds like a very positive sign! I don't know exactly what it means but I'd be very surprised if you got an email like that without you being put through to the next round. But temper your enthusiasm a bit just in case something has gone wrong and give HR a call to ask them what's happened.

Good luck!
