Unless I didnt understand this correctly, I think you are risking it. A future job may or may not happen in a timely manner. Why would you use 4-day work week when you have just started a new job? Why would you make up an excuse to claim the 4-day work week benefit. If there is a back story to this, then pardon me otherwise make sure you dont drop the ball with current employer.

Otherwise, many people use after work hours and weekends to prepare for interviews. Take an odd holiday , pull a sicky here and there. This is totally doable. There are tons of thread in the Q&A forum on preparation advice, so please search broadly.

Agree with Adi - "don't sh*t where you eat". Family circumstances (e.g., kids or taking care of elderly parents) would probably be most acceptable but I'm not sure taking an extra day off will really make the difference when preparing for interviews. The forgone salary could be better spent on finding a good coach then spending all "Friday" preparing for interviews.

Hi there,

I couldn't agree more with Ken.

Why not use the Friday salary to pay for a coach which is essentially a 2x or 3x lever on your study time? It would be far more effective than taking off the Friday.

Moreover, it's not a great look doing this just a few months into your job - priority #1 should be doing well in your current role, followed by the goal of finding another offer.
