Thank you note (Email vs LinkedIn) / Follow up message

Hi guys,

Today I participated in a workshop with with BCG's consultants. Afterwards I had a nice conversation with one of them (~5mins) and he told me multiple times to let him know if I have any further questions and to feel free to contact him.

What is thebest way to send a thank you / follow up message? What should this type of message have in it?

Hi,

are you close to apply for BCG? You can tell them how are you impressed by their enthusiasm about the firm, asking if they allow to talk about them when you write the cover letter. It can happen that they support you with an internal referral. With me it worked :)

Best,

Antonello

Thanks Antonello, good idea! I'll probably apply in 2 months, so I'm not sure if it makes sense then

Hi,

If you want to keep in touch - send a thank you note after the event:

  • "I just wanted to thank you for visiting our University...
  • It was especially interesting to hear about...
  • Would be happy to keep in touch and apply in the nearest future

Hi Anonymous,

at this stage, you can simply mention was great to meet him and will keep him updated on the process. You can then followup before your application and ask if he has any suggestion for it – which will give him a chance to refer you if he wants to do so.

Best,

Francesco
