Strategy Role in an Overseas Captive Center

I've been offered a position in an overseas captive center of a Fortune 500 non-bank financial institution (think India, Eastern Europe, Ireland, etc.). Although the employer makes it seem otherwise, I'm a little concerned that I will end up being a work robot for someone across the Atlantic Ocean, without feeling like a part of the team. I get the feeling that the main corporation (based in US), pushes non-core, non-exciting support tasks to the captive center, and doesn't really include them in the exciting core work. I feel like captive center employees are not involved in big-picture decisions.

If I accept, I will be leaving a Big 4 strategy consulting role for the job described above. Do you think my fears are unfounded? Is anyone here familiar with how captive centers work, and how they are generally regarded within the larger group?

Thanks.

Ex-MBB, Experienced Hire; I will teach you not only the how, but also the why of case interviews

Hard to tell, this would be a case-by-base. I'd follow my gut: if it doesn't sound right, just don't do it. Being in a big4 right now, your career is on a set, upward trajectory -> only jump ship if the positives are clearly stronger than the risks & negatives.
