Strategy& online assessment

Hi All,

I got an invite for the Strategy& online assessment. Anyone aware what would it entail? I could not find a lot of information online.

Thank you!

Hi there,

Honestly, all of these online tests are very similar

Format? Somewhat different. Content and what's required from you ability-wise? Hardly different.

The best way is to really find online tests / questions and practice. Regardless as to whether is a new or old test, the principles are mostly the same:

  • Time management (need to think quick)
  • Business knowledge/context (incl key formulas)
  • Critical thinking (answers that are very similar to each other...clues "hidden" in the text)
  • Ability to interpret data/charts

Think of it as a merge of a case and the GMAT/GRE.

You need to be clear on some key case-related and account formulas (margin, growth, breakeven, etc) as well as be good at critically understanding the question (including nuance to questions) and parsing through complicated text with a fair amount of distraction.

You'll also need to be good at chart/graph reading.

The (old) McKinsey PST, BCG Online Test, Bain SOVA test, etc. are all quite similar so leverage resources across all of them.

Greetings,

I hope you're having a splendid day so far!

I possess ample knowledge regarding the Strategy& assessment conducted in the Middle East.

The latter consists of multiple mini-games designed to assess your logical reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical abilities.

To be more specific, one of the mathematical mini-games presents a designated number (e.g., 48) alongside bubbles containing various equations (such as 59-11, 35+14, 20+21, etc.). Your objective is to select the bubbles whose equations yield the same result as the given golden number.

Another game (which tests your problem solving skills) involves a pathway with obstacles, wherein your task is to extract a wooden log from the pathway utilizing the fewest possible moves.

Towards the conclusion, there is a segment dedicated to personal questions that inquire about your background and personality.

All in all, the assessment is quite captivating and enjoyable.

Prepare well and best of luck!

Hi there

while overall, these assessments and qualities tested are typically quite similar, format slighly varies by region - could you share which office / region this is from?

Surprised to hear you couldn't find any information online. There should even be free examples of former tests that you could work on.

Regardless, you can basically expect a mix of mathematical and logical reasoning exercises. The format can vary from region to region.

Happy to share a few examples from my own library if useful.

Best,

Cristian
