Strategy& Middle East offer

Hello everyone. I have recently received a FT offer from Strategy& Middle East (MBA hire) however it is slightly below what I know of them to offer.

I want to ask - can you tell me what all is taken into consideration when an offer is made? Should I be hopeful with negotiating, or would that be ill advised?

Thank you!

Hi there,

You should absolutely negotiate! Please don't listen to anyone who says you shouldn't!

Personally, I doubled my signing bonus ($40k). If you'd like help with this (what to ask for, how to ask, etc.) feel free to reach out. Negotiations is a science+art and can be learned (over the past 4-5 years or so I've added approx. $400k to just friends, family, and myself through my negotiations advice)

Hello.

First of all congratulations on the offer!

Negotiating is possible especially lately. However, don't hesitate to contact me in private to benchmark you offer and I could explain the gap with usual offers (if any) in addition to the points to consider before going into any negotiations.

Best,
Nicolas

Hello,

Congrats on the offer. A lot of factors go into making the decision - your experience, academic performance, university (if its in the preferred list of the firm) and most important your interview performance. You can try and negotiate but I doubt it will help. Consulting activity in the region is at its peak these days and pool of applicants is quite high. Nonetheless, there is no harm in asking.

Good luck!

Usually the salary (fix + variable) is fixed or whithin a narrow band.
Signing bonus / relocation might have a bit more flexibility.

What you want to make sure is that you are getting in at the right level/rank.

Hey,

Many factors are taken into account for an offer- role & level, your experience & skills, interview performance & market dynamics. If you are convinced that their offer is below market, then negotiate by all means. When you negotiate, keep the conversation positive & focus on win-win. Talk about your skills & value your bring. If you have other offers to compare this could make your case stronger. Dont negotiate just for the sake of it.

All the best.

Congratulations. You can negotiate if you have a solid reason (e.g., similar experience within equivalent consulting firm). However, salaries in consulting are pretty match standard per role and tenure. Unless you are confident that you have been lowballed compared to similar post MBA Offers, I belie negotiation would be not easy.
On another note, How long it takes strategy& to share final offer with you ( from last interview to offer sharing). This would be helpful as I just finished my final round with them by end of last week.
Thanks
