I am trying to plan for long term future, and wondering! Can a business analyst at Strategy& gets into Data Science after spending 1 or 2 years? Assuming that Strategy& is the first experience.

No. You will need to do some sort of formal qualification in data science however a mix of strategy consulting and a technical data science toolkit will be an excellent combination of skills on your CV and will most likely set you up for some exciting data science roles in the future

Hi there,

You mean working as a strategy consultant at Startegy&? I don’t think so. The only benefit you would have in working in consulting for a data scientist job would be if you work as a data scientist there in the first place (eg in BCG Gamma or McKinsey Analytics).

Unfortunately that's a bit of a stretch. Of course, demand is high and supply is low in this market, so you might able to pull it off. However, your best bet is to supplement this experience with additional data anlytics courses/classes.
