I interviewed last Friday for a Senior Knowledge Analyst role at McKinsey, on the Digital Tech and Insights / Tech Modernization team. It was a one hour round, roughly five minutes on my background and the rest a case.
Being honest, the case did not go well. I struggled to structure the brainstorm, I misread an exhibit, and the interviewer ended up guiding me through parts of it.
My application status on the portal still says In Progress. Two questions for anyone who has been through this:
1. How long does McKinsey usually take to update status after an experienced hire interview? And does the portal status actually change when the answer is no, or does it just sit there until someone emails you?
2. For a knowledge analyst role specifically, is a weak case round usually decisive, or does the expertise portion carry meaningful weight?
