Senior Consultant interview - Global Strategy Group (KPMG) - What to expect

Hi All,

I am preparing for my business case interview (second last round) at KPMG Global Strategy Group in Amsterdam. Before that, I have been working for 4 years at Deloitte (Strategy and operation dept, but not Monitor).

What should I expect from the interview? Is there a difference in the type of business cases that “seniors” get - especially after past experience in consulting?

Also, does anyone have any tips regarding the KPMG process? Should I expect the same level of difficulty as MBBs?

Thank you so much!
Ciao, Val

Hi there,

I know you won't love this answer, but you should be ready for anything and you should expect the hardest level of difficulty.

Why? Because literally anything can happen (regardless of any books/sites that say the exact process is x).

I've had candidates interview for the exact same role in the exact same office and have completely different experience (most time spent on fit versus no time spent on fit, all charts and exhibits versus no charts and exhibits, etc. etc.).

Please go in having prepared to be flexible/adaptable. If you lock yourself into expecting one specific thing you run the risk of being caught off-gaurd!

If it is a case interview (and from what you describe it seems to be the case), it's going to be just like any other case interview. So, yes, expect the same level of difficulty and prepare according.

Hello!

No, the process is the same (meaning that you will be interviewed by a consultant that will make you the same case she/her always does).

The difference is the level, since you need to meet or raise a bar that is higher.

Cheers,

Clara
