Salary in SEA

Hi Team

Does anyone know the expected salary range for T2 manager in SEA (non singapore); moving in from US; the initial number quoted was 150K all in; does this sound low?

Thanks

Hi there,

Q: Does anyone know the expected salary range for T2 manager in SEA.

There is quite a difference depending on the country. Salaries are adjusted based on the cost of living.

For Singapore, you can find the data I collected below:

▶ consulting salaries in Singapore

Given you are interested in other countries, you can take the numbers above, find the salaries for one position interesting to you via Glassdoor / other source in your target country, calculate the ratio with Singapore and use that as proxy for the other positions. It won’t be perfect but should give you an idea of the range.

Best,

Francesco

Hi there,

Technically you should be brought into that same pay band as others.

This is low. An MBA Consultant would get more than this ($160k-$175k base…not including bonus)

A manager should get 200k+ minimum (base)

Thanks for the insight. But is the 175k base applicable to non singapore locations: think Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia?

I understand salaries in singapore are higher than adjacent countries, given significant gap in cost if living.

Ah! Moving FROM the US. Apologies, I misread. You are absolutely going to take a paycut. I don't know the exact # but $150k sounds more reasonable for NonSingapore SEA. Regardless, you should negotiate no matter what!

Hi there,

I don't know specifically for the region & role combination and I assume you already checked out Glassdoor, so as a next step you could reach out to some of the people who are in that role already.

Treat it as an opportunity for networking and also learning more about the recruitment process. Then ask them at the end what is the salary range that you should expect. Tell them what you've heard. And let them at least give you a high-level figure without disclosing their exact salary.

You can use the following guide on how to conduct this sort of chat:

Hi there,

Within SEA, this varies quite a bit by company and country.

I used to work on Manager level in SEA - feel free to reach out via DM and share some details. Should be able to advise specifically.

You will get a relevant paycut vs. whatever you have in the U.S.

How much exactly will really depend on the specific country. Your best option here is Glassdoor (look at multiple firms to try to understand what is the right answer). Assume at least 25-35% increase from experienced senior consultant level to manager.

Hi,

I'm from SEA - worked at a T2 and MBB, also have friends still in both tiers of firms.

It really depends on the firm and location - drop me a dm if you want to chat more.
