Request to Reschedule Interviews in the Middle East

Hello,

I hope you're doing well.

I just got an invitation today to interview with BCG in the Middle East over the next few days. I’m really excited, but to be honest, I don’t feel quite ready yet.

Do you think it would be okay to ask for a bit more time to prepare and postpone the interviews? I’d really like to practice a few more cases before going in.

Thanks a lot!

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the invitation from BCG!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, yes, asking to postpone the interviews is fine - this is more common than most candidates think, especially if you reach out early and stay polite and professional.
  • Moreover, I would advise you to contact your recruiter as soon as possible and briefly explain that you're excited, but unfortunately, the current date does not work for you.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming BCG interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hey there,

100%! Yes, that would be fine and recruiters are used to managing requests for rescheduling, so don't worry about if asking will have any impact on your interviews

A nice, polite, and professional request to reschedule the interview would do, and the sooner you make the request - the easier it can be to accommodate

All the best

For which round did they invite you and which office?

Thanks :)

Yes! It's quite common to request a postponement.

I'd recommend reaching out to your recruiter ASAP to see if they're willing to do this.

Meanwhile, happy to help with your prep if you need extra support.

Hi there,

Yes, please ask for more time.

Consulting firms recruit constantly and unless you are applying for a specialist role that they need to fill immediately, they are always flexible with postponing your interview.

Empirically, between a third and half of the candidates I've interacted with ended up rescheduling their interviews, so it's rather common.

Reach out to them in advance, be polite, and I'm sure they will be willing to push it.

Best,
Cristian

helllo!

Yes, it’s totally okay to ask for a short postponement, especially if you just got the invite. Just keep the tone appreciative and respectful, and try to suggest specific dates within the next 1–2 weeks to show commitment. They’re usually understanding, especially if slots are still flexible.

Happy to help you prep while you get ready!

Best,
Alessa :)

Hi,

I highly recommend postponing the interview if you feel unprepared yet.

Reach out to the HR responsible asap.

Good luck.
