Recruiter email - Need expert's guidance

Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you to all the experts who are answering the questions here.

A partner referred my profile to office A and I got an email from recruiting manager from that office saying that I can apply in November only as I was rejected last year. I had not applied to this office but due to the global ban, she was saying this.

However, I had asked the recruiting team in office B where I got rejected last year and explained to them that I have developed my profile and they asked me to apply and not to wait until November.

Now the office B is pretty competitive at the moment so I thought to apply to office A. Can I tell the recruiting manager of office A that office B is allowing me to apply again?

Will that hamper my chances or should I just explain the same thing that I have developed my profile and go with whatever she says. If she still says no then I have to wait until November which I obviously do not want to wait so just wanted to tell her that office B is allowing me to reapply so that she might get convinced but not sure if I should do this or not?

Your guidance would be very much appreciated.

Hi there,

You can/should ask, but you need to word this email very carefully.

It needs to go along the lines of "I just wanted to double-check that I need to wait until Novermber. The only reason I ask is that I have significantly developed my profile in x + y way and, in light of this, Recruiter A in X office suggested I can re-apply now despite the typical ban. I just wanted to check, and, of course, understand if I'll need to wait until November to apply to your office.

Appreciate your consideration in advance!"

^This is an example and needs to be wordsmithed.

Good luck!

Hello!

Totally agree with Ian, it´s all about how you phrase it. Furthermore, I would advise you to try to have this conversation over the phone vs. email, to avoid misunderstandings. It´s much easier to connect and explain "gray" situations that way.

Cheers,

Clara
