Usually after 12 months you are fine.

1 year is the minimum and 2 is recommended. Hiring for MBB is global so all offices will know the outcome of your application. In general it is only recommended to apply once you have clear career progression to speak of. Without material progress there is no real reason for them to interview you again. (Examples include getting an MBA or 2+ years of new and relevant work experience in a role that they would be excited by)

It's best to check directly with the recruiter, but for most offices, the ‘freeze’ period is around 12 months. 

This is not a mathematical 12-month period, but a high-level timeline. If you believe your profile has improved significantly within 9 months and can explain this to HR, they can make expectations and accept your application earlier.

If you were officially rejected, it means that you are not eligible to re-apply for 12-18 months (exact duration can vary by company/region). This refers to the company as a whole, not just the individual office that rejected your initial application.

The reason for this ban period is to give candidates sufficient time to “further develop and grow” relative to the point in time at which they were rejected. This typically means that you have to add relevant experiences to your CV which naturally takes some time so that 12+ months kind of makes sense.

For Junior Associate you typically need to wait 18 months. Some offices let you apply after 12 months but this is more an exception.
