Question regarding BCG's reapplication for Associate/Consultant Experienced Hire role

Hi,

I had applied to BCG's Associate, Experienced Hire role for Dallas office in Nov 2025 and was rejected just a couple of days after applying and also wasn't invited to interview. The same role, with the same req ID, has now opened in Seattle, where I have a referral from a partner based in that office. In my candidate portal, when I tried to click on apply, the portal says that I had already applied to this role in November 2025 and there is no way for me to proceed further. BCG's standard reapplication waiting period is 6-18 months, but I'm unsure if this is tracked per-office or across the firm as a whole.

Has anyone navigated a similar situation or have information about reapplying to a different office within the 12-month window, especially with a partner referral? Would appreciate any insight on whether this is worth pursuing now. I don't want to wait this out since I'm not sure if this role will be open again in November and not sure if I should wait it out. Also, should I delete my profile and create and apply with a new one? I'm hesitant to wait it out since I don't know if this specific role will reopen again for Seattle in November, and I'd rather pursue it now if there's a reasonable path. Also, would deleting my profile and creating a new one with a different email to reapply be worth considering, or is that unlikely to actually help?

Thank you!

I definitely wouldn't create a new profile or apply with a different email.

Best case, it doesn't help. Worst case, it creates confusion and could raise questions about your application history.

The more important point is that your situation has changed:

  • it's a different office
  • you have a partner referral
  • some time has passed since your previous application

I'd suggest asking the partner (or the recruiter for the Seattle office) whether they can clarify your eligibility and, if appropriate, help route your application. That's a much cleaner approach than trying to work around the system.

Also, remember that a rejection a few days after applying usually means you didn't pass the initial screening. If the partner genuinely knows you and is willing to support your application, that can materially change the situation.

So my advice would be:

  • don't create a second profile
  • don't try to bypass the portal
  • leverage the referral and ask for guidance from recruiting

That's by far the most professional and highest-probability path.
