Porsche and Siemens Advanta

Hello,

I'm an engineer with multiple years experience in Product development and RnD intending to transition to Consulting.  I'm, specifically , targeting Porsche consulting and Siemens Advanta as they seem to working with engineering clients mostly. Porsche seems to be mostly into operations, production and logistics which are missing from my resume; I could use some help in translating my experience to show I could be a good fit there.

Thank you,

R

Hello there,

consulting firms look for different backgrounds and they are eager to take also candidates with no exact experience if they see the potential.

Nevertheless, there are many examples when even brilliant candidates failed passing CV as it didn't transmit what is needed.

I have significant experience turning no-way-pass CV even for candidates not matching exact requirements passing the screening and getting the interview (also from Germany). Please feel free to check my profile and reach out if you would be interested.

Good luck
Lucie

The primary question is whether it’s actually a good fit, not how to make it look as if it were.

I’m saying this for your sake because this sounds like a big jump/career transition and you may or may not be fully aware of what it takes and whether it’s ultimately as attractive as you thought.

That being said, it’s not an unreasonable transition and most firms hire people with a lack of specific experiences if they have the right fundamentals/intrinsics (in addition to ticking some other boxes, of course).

Let me know if you‘d like some more help with this. I went from being a Petroleum Geologist to becoming a McKinsey ops consultant so I know what it’s like…

Hi there,

I'm of the view that you can turn any past experience into something relevant for what you're aiming. Hey, that's how I've gone from Econ+French majors to IT/Tech Consulting to Strategy Consulting to Data Analytics to Coaching!

Feel free to shoot me a message - I've turned around a lot of resumes in my lifetime so I'm happy to help here!
