Hi there,

1. Yes, if you pass, you should be extended an offer!

2. Depends on location and role. Some start right away, some have a later start date.

3. It gives firms the flexibility to have candidates ready-to-go in the pipeline once the activity picks up again. They have learned from the past when their pipeline of new hires was empty after a slowdown and they had to turn town clients once demand picked up again.

Cheers,

Florian

Hi there,

1) Partner round which is the last step in big 4 hiring means offer roll out?

If you mean if this is the last step before an offer, the answer is yes, unless they mentioned there might be an additional round after that.

2) With offer release post partner round, how many offers have start date sooner than later?

The starting date depends on the needs of the company, so this is something you can only verify once they extend one.

3) How does hiring freeze and partner round can happen simultaneously?

Not sure I understand the question. A hiring freeze means the company is currently not hiring. If you have an interview scheduled, it means that the company is open to hire (at least for your role/intake), although they might not offer a starting date immediately.

Francesco

Hi there,

1) partner round which is the last step in big 4 hiring means offer roll out?

Yup!

2) with offer release post partner round, how many offers have start date sooner than later?

Not sure what you mean? Sooner = what? Later = what? Offers generally have start dates within a few months, but could be longer.

You haven't told us country, role, recruiting channel, etc….

3) how does hiring freeze and partner round can happen simultaneously?

Because even while firms fire they also hire. With very large firms, some departments fire, some freeze, some hire. Additionally, even in a freeze, they may want to line up new hires for the future (6-12 months)

Hi there,

1) partner round which is the last step in big 4 hiring means offer roll out?

Exactly!

2) with offer release post partner round, how many offers have start date sooner than later?

You will have to wait until you have the offer. This depends on how advance their are on their recruiting target.

3) how does hiring freeze and partner round can happen simultaneously?

Who told you about the hiring freeze? There is a lot of buzz around that but most consulting firms are still hiring in almost all regions (some with more intensity, some with less). In any case, consulting firms are always interviewing candidates because attrition, even in low or zero growth periods.

Alberto

Hi,

  1. If you pass that round, an offer will be extended, yes.
  2. Depends on the company and your role. If you are a generalist, there is usually a high degree of flexibility to the start date. If you come in as an experienced hire, there has typically been a specific need identified at the company that they are seeking to fill sooner rather than later. However, the project-based nature of the consulting business always allows for more flexibility compared with corporate day-to-day roles
  3. The company might just try to empty the active recruiting funnel. In case of a definite hiring freeze, they still might try to incentivize interesting candidates by dangling an offer prospect in front of their noses

Hi there!

If you're interviewing for a senior role, you might have several Partner rounds. You should clarify that with HR.

But yes, eventually, after one of the Partner rounds, you get an offer or a rejection.

I have seen cases where the hiring freeze happened during the hiring process, so in that sense it's best not to postpone it for too long.

Best of luck!

Yes, after the partner round you will know whether you get an offer or not. The starting date depends on the office needs… right now most likely it will be later.

Hiring freeze usually has a defined start and end date. Meaning that they cannot hire for now, but can hire for (e.g.) September. There are always people leaving consulting (some on their own, some counselled out), and that means there is always some candidate intake as well.
