OC&C Strategy general information

Question

Hi,

Could share any insights on OC&C Strategy (London) please ? I have an interview process starting with tem. I know it is still a “small” consulting firm but I really feel attracted by its size, culture and industries expertise. So, I would like to know a bit more from the inside if anyone has something to share please ? :)

Broadly a few things

Industries: Retail, CPG, TMT, PE and B2B services are big
Nature of work: Lot of commercial DD, vendor DD, strategy, growth work
Size: It wasn't very small, I would say a mid-sized firm and the office had been growing
Hours: The hours on DDs can be very long, my conversations there showed the people had been working very hard and were burning out (this might be unique to the time)
Culture: They did try quite hard to have a “fun” culture and did fun things
Diversity: Lacked diversity, were very white, male, ox-bridge dominated
Salaries: AC level - 45-50k and C level - 90-100k (very comparable to MBB)

They mostly do Vendor and Commercial Due Diligence projects.
They advertise their strategy projects but they don't do many of them.
They have no brand and they attract mostly tier-3 consultants.
It is extremely unlikely to end up working in a PE fund or in a top position in a corporation.
Their salary is 10% lower than MBB; bonus is 20% lower.
In terms of industries and clients, they mostly work with tier-2 or 3 PE funds and mid-cap corporations.
