OC&C London - MBA Internship VISA Sponsership

Hi, I am a student in one of the European Business schools and a columbian National. Currently interviewing for the final round for the OC&C London office but I don't have a work visa for London.

I wanted to know if you happen to know any INSEAD / IESE / HEC MBAs who have done their internship at OC&C London with a sponsored visa?? I don't want to raise it myself during the interview process but would like to know my real chances if the interview goes well.

Hi there,

I would worry about this later.

If they provide you with an offer, they will take care of the visa as well (unless they proactively mention this as part of their application process).

Best,

Cristian

I don't know about OC&C specifically but often consulting firms do sponsor visas for “good” candidates whom they want to hire. This is the case for full-time hires at least. I'm not sure if this is also done for internship programs since those are short and might be deemed not worth the administrative effort. So this is definitely something I would try to discuss at some point. I'm surprised that HR has not inquired about that during your application.

However, if they haven't asked you about your work eligibility up to this point, I wouldn't raise it before the final round - just roll with it now. At the very least you get the interview practice. In the best case is you get the internship and a visa sponsorship as well.

Good luck

Hi there,

First of all, best of luck for the final interview round with OC&C!

I think this is an interesting question that may be relevant for many people. I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:

  • It is definitely worth inquiring about visa sponsorship during the interview process with OC&C London, as it is a common practice for strategy consulting companies to assist their international candidates with obtaining the necessary documentation.
  • Additionally, you may want to research on LinkedIn for people from Colombia who have worked or currently work at OC&C London/in London in general, and reach out to them to inquire about their experience with obtaining a visa. This can give you a better understanding of your chances if the interview goes well.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to address your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

You need to ask OC&C directly if you'd really like to know! Ultimately, if they are interviewing you then they are prepared to sponsor you (I'm assuming they know that you don't have working rights).

Additionally, make sure you keep networking with other firms as this is not just a great way to get your foot in the door, but also helps you get answers to exactly these kinds of questions.

Good luck in your final round!

They should be willing to sponsor. This is unlikely to be a new problem for them. They know that a ton of candidates from MBA schools have VISA issues, so I highly doubt they are not already aware of this, and willing to sponsor.
