Not Hearing Back After BCG SEA Final Round Interview

Hi all, I applied for BCG SEA office, finished my 2R interviews with 2 MDPs more than a month ago, and still have not heard back. I asked the recruiter and they said it was still pending from the partners side. They have chased them but still pending. Anyone faces the same situation before and what i should do in this situation? Many thanks!!

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on going through the entire application process with BCG!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:

  • Unfortunately, since you have already followed up with the recruiter, there is nothing you can do except wait for the outcome and apply to other consulting firms. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you receive the offer.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

hey!

Yes, it happens occasionally. Partner decisions can be delayed due to travel, client work, or internal alignment. If it's been over a month, it's okay to politely follow up with the recruiter once more, but beyond that, patience is key. Keep other options open in parallel.

Hi there,

That has happened to me too, it is not unusual. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do but wait. Keep an eye on other opportunities.

Best,

Mari

Yes, this happens sometimes but by all means it's not common and rather unfortunate.

It's great that you followed-up with the recruiter.

The only thing you can do now is wait.

It might be worth putting some energy into other applications and pursuing other opportunities, just in case when you hear back from BCG the answer is not a positive one.

Hope you hear back from the soon!
Best,
Cristian

At this point, your only move is to follow up with the recruiter every 7–10 days.

That’s it.

There’s nothing else you can influence until they make a decision.

Use the downtime to prep or explore backup options—but don’t overthink the silence.

Best,

Alberto

Sorry to hear that, I can imagine that it’s frustrating.

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do except wait it out.

MBB partners are extremely busy and sometimes delays like this do happen for recruiting or other non-consulting processes.

Best of luck.

Hi there,

Q: What i should do in this situation?

Unfortunately, you don’t have much leverage in this case. The only possible option to accelerate the process would be to get another offer and inform them, this should push them to provide feedback.

Good luck!

Yes, a lot of people have faced that situation.

You reached out to HR, they are on top of things, all you can do is wait... and prepare.

Do not worry - this is a normal occurance. MDPs are busy and sometimes they might want to discuss with each other (and the recruiting partner) to decide. Keep politely following-up every 2 weeks or so.
