NGWL SEA 2026 – Timeline for Solve Invitation & Assessment Deadline?

Hi everyone,

I’ve just submitted my application for the NGWL McKinsey Southeast Asia program and had a quick question about the process. Based on the stated deadline, I initially thought the Solve invitation would be sent immediately after submission so I could complete it by April 20 as well.

What is stated on website:
Application Requirements (Deadline: April 20, 2026):

  • Resume: Include education, grades, work experience, extracurricular activities, and achievements

  • Office Location: This is necessary so that our colleagues from those offices/ business functions can objectively review your application

  • Digital Assessment: Complete an online assessment (~110 minutes) that needs no preparation or prior business knowledge. Details will be provided after application submission.

  • Cover Letter (Optional): Max 250 words to express your motivation, leadership experience, or additional relevant information

However, I only received an acknowledgment email saying they’ll be in touch with next steps. Does this mean applications are screened first before Solve invitations are sent out? And if so, is the assessment deadline separate from the April 20 application deadline?

Would really appreciate if anyone who’s gone through the process could share their timeline. Thank you!

Hi,

Yes, this is normal, there is an initial screening before they invite you to the test, especially for programs with a lot of applicants like NGWL.

On the deadline, the April 20 date is for the application.. The assessment  has its own deadline once you receive the invite.

Bottom line: nothing to worry about; you’re still in the normal process. Just wait for their follow-up.

Hope it helps.
Franco

PS: Feel free to reach out to the local recruiting team for these kinds of logistical questions; they’re usually quite responsive.
