Networking for diversity program

Hi all, I am part of a diversity organization and was recently invited to apply to a firm's diversity program through this organization. The person who emailed us about the program is a recruiter who has shared the program flyer on their LinkedIn.

I am wondering whether it is appropriate to reach out to connect and learn more about the program/firm, or whether this is not encouraged because they are a recruiter. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi there,

it sounds like the recruiter reached out to a broader audience to share information about a certain program. It is then only natural to expect questions or follow-ups in case people are interested in the shared material. So it would be perfectly normal for you to reach out to that recruiter in case you would like to have more information on the matter. It doesn't mean you'd be committing to anything right off the bat.

Hi there,

Feel free to reach out. It's the recruiter's job to help potential applicants out and answer their questions, all with the goal to steer them towards the interviews and beyond!

Don't overthink this!

All the best,

Florian
