McKinsey Solve? And BCG Case chat?

Hello All,

Thanks for your help with Q and A. It is really helpful for us. My question is I am in a top MBA school in Spain, and I applied to McKinsey and BCG internships. And I plan to apply to bain. Is McKinsey Solve game, BCG case chat and Bain test required for mba internship before the interview? If yes does it make sense to prepare for the test before I get the interview? Or there is enough time to prepare once you get those tests? How long do you have between once you get the test and the duration you have to solve it? What are the best resources for those tests? I just heard of Mconsuting one and Francessco guides? Thanks all again for your insights.

Hi there,

Such assessments are typically required before interviews for MBA internships at McKinsey. It’s a good idea to prepare a bit in advance since you usually get only a few days to complete them once you’re invited. You don’t need to overdo it, just get familiar with the format. MConsultingPrep and Francesco’s guides are solid starting points.

Yes, you will almost certainly receive the test (not sure why you wouldn't, unless you participated in some program of theirs where you were already pre-screened).

And yes, it's worth practising for it.

When? Typically you have 10-14 days from the moment they invite you to the test and until you need to do it. In most cases, that's enough to practice for the test, but if you know you're going to be interviewing with multiple firms, it makes sense to start preparing early. There are also significant synergies from practising tests from different firms - since they have lots in common, practicing for one will also help you get better with the others.
