McKinsey Recruiter Feedback Call Mid-Process

Hello Everyone,

After passing the first round, I conducted the first interview of the final round for a Knowledge Analyst position at McKinsey 2 weeks ago. I haven't received feedbacks on my performance throughout the process and mentioned that to my last interviewer.

My recruiter just reached out to let me know she's going to schedule a feedback call on the upcoming days (without mentioning if I'm proceeding to the final interview of the final round or not). Does this mean rejection?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Not necessarily so.

If it were termed "Feedback call", I would actually assume this is just to give feedback on your first round but not a decision call.

That being said, I have received a rejection call before and the interviewer did also share feedback at the same time... so, best not to read too much into it :)

Hi there,

So I understand you did not receive feedback after your first round and were directly scheduled for the 2nd round?

In this case, it could just be the outstanding feedback after round 1 that they missed to schedule with you. That's at least one hypothesis :)

Fingers crossed for you,

Ariadna

Hi there,

Could go both ways yet this is usually done between rounds to

  • provide feedback
  • plan the logistics for the final round

I'd be cautiously optimistic!

Fingers crossed,

Florian
