MBB Follow-up Email

Hi All,

I am currently based in EMEA and it has been around 1 month after my application has been referred by an ex-mbb. When I tried to ask whether can she help with the follow up, she asked me to email it directly to the HR. Should I send an email to the HR with option:

A) Saying I just want to inquire about my application status  (without stating who and when); Or

B) Saying I want to inquire about my referred application status by xx who is an ex-MBB on xx September 2022.

Which option is better do you think it's better? Look forward to all of your advice. Cheers!

No harm in the second option which makes it clear it is a referral.

I would also emphasize that it was a referral. If this is the first follow-up you might as well mention it again. You put in effort to get this referral after all

Hi there,

The latter, option B.

Do #2, but if the HR employee is good it won't matter. All referrals are tracked & tagged to your application via software, so if the HR rep looks up your application they'll see the referral.

I would say the second one. It is simple and clear.

Hi there,

Certainly B, so they can actually go and check it in the tracker they maintain.

Best,
