It's hard to generalise as there is quite a range amongst expert tracks too. Do you have a specific question? The largest differences are the focus on your client work and the expectations on developing expertise.

This is a pretty broad question! I advise you to embrace the consultant way and learn to be more previse with your questioning.
That said, at BCG for example there are a lot of other tracks. You can go into Digital Ventures (think startup/incubator hub), BCG GAMMA (data science), BCG Platinion (Digital/Tech), and then pretty much any strategy expert track across various industries (healthcare, energy, CPG, etc.) and/or functions (People & Organization, Operations, M&A, etc.)
