I recently signed an offer with an MBB firm. While reviewing my CV again, I realized that I made a small mistake in the start date of the part-time job I had during my university. I worked there for over three years, but my memory was a bit unclear, and I accidentally wrote a start date that is off by about two months.
I’ve heard that background checks are conducted, and I was wondering whether these are typically done for all graduate hires as well. Also, in a situation like this, could such a small discrepancy potentially cause serious issues, such as an offer being rescinded?
Of course, this was an honest mistake rather than an intentional misrepresentation, but I would really appreciate any insights from people who are familiar with the process.
