London vs Dubai

Hi

Hope everybody is doing fine. I really want to ask what is the compensation in terms of money  along with the  perks offered such as housing or car to entry level candidates at MBB offices in London and the Middle East. By entry level I mean both after MBA and undergraduate.

A detailed answer would be great

Regards

Hi there,

You won't be able to find all of those details down to that level, until you actually get an offer…that's because it changes based on a number of factors.

Undergrad UK is around 50k GBP base. Middle East around $70k USD base.

MBA (NOT entry level…you have your terminology wrong) UK is around 100k GBP and Middle East around $160k USD.

Remember taxes are very very different across these regions as well.

I actually track offer data for my candidates and see many of their contracts (to help them negotiate), which I have for UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the UK - of course, the detailed verison of this comes with coaching.

Hello,

Compensation is much much stronger in the Middle East (in select offices like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh). MBB firms are offering a premium if you're willing to relocate to Saudi (~30% higher than UAE) and the salaries are on par with US ones. London and much of Europe typically pays lower.

Also note that the old perks of housing, travel, and other benefits that used to be provided in the Middle East are mostly phased out. There's now a standard compensation package.

Hi there,

Ian already gave a good high-level answer on this.

In general, when it comes to total (post-tax) compensation, few offices can keep up with Middle East - London is definitely not one of them. The gap here is significant.

Feel free to reach out via DM, if you'd like to understand the comp components across both locations in more detail.

Hi there,

Q: I really want to ask what is the compensation in terms of money along with the perks offered at MBB offices in London and the Middle East.

For the Middle East, you can find a sum up below:

Hope this helps,

Hello,

An additional two cents - to my knowledge, housing and cars are not typical perks that are offered. Those tend to include things like relocation bonus and hiring bonus.

Hi there!

I don't have exact data but based on my pool of candidates, the average difference in compensation between London and ME has been 40-60% higher in the latter.

Still, this only matters if you have the option to choose. That means that you should somehow be eligible for both offices.

Best,
Cristian
