LEK Final Round

What is the format of the LEK presentation interview (virtual)?

1. How is the information shared? Usually how large is the document?

2. Is the deck to be prepared on hard paper or filled in a PowerPoint, before presenting to the interviewer? In either case, would there be a template provided by them?

3. What would be the best practice for this interview format?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Have you been told that you will be given a written case? I only ask because this is how you seem to be asking your questions.

Ultimately, it does depend on the office + role for which you're applying, but you should expect any combination of case, fit, and written case (the recruiter should tell you).

Fit Preparation

Make sure you know your “Resume Walkthrough”, “Why Consulting”, and “Why Company” answers. See here for more info:

Make sure you're also prepared with your personal fit stories.

Case Preparation

In terms of cases, keep practicing as you have, but make sure to get away from “conventional” or standard case types and learn how to be flexible/adaptable to more unique prompts. I've created a few nonstandard cases here for you to practice (Note, even my profitability one is unconventional in terms of ideal framework):

Written Case

  1. Remember that most casing tips apply here (i.e. be very clear+focused on the objective, ruthlessly cut out information that doesn't help you meet this objective/question, make sure to thinking + communicate in a structured way, etc. etc.)
  2. Practice/simulate this as much as possible beforehand...getting a coach to help you run through scenarios + how to react in inevitably challenging moments will do a world of good.

I have a number of written case I'd be more than happy to share with you! What I generally do with my candidates is, give them a written case x hours before our scheduled session (adjust # of hours based on the specific interview they're going to have), and then review their work during the session (as well as talk through tips+tricks to get better).
