It doesn't matter.

It really doesn't.

Your job is to get variety in your cases. Who cares if the case is from 10 years ago! It's testing x, y, and z skill.

Also remember there are diminishing returns to just sitting down and reading cases by yourself.

Case WITH other people! This is how you get interview ready (oh, and, by the way, when you do, they'll probably give you cases in more recent casebooks!)

Focus on learning how to deconstruct problems, rather than learning how to deal with specific industries or functional foci of a case.

You can even create your own cases on the spot without the use of a casebook just by walking around your city.

I think this is an interesting question that may be relevant for many people. I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:

• Generally speaking, the value of business school case study books remains even over a longer period of time because the key dynamics of an industry and the types of issues they face remain the same. As such, I would not focus too much on having the latest edition of these books. For instance, I personally really enjoyed working with the Yale case book back then, which dates back to 2013.
• What is much more important, independent of the specific case study book, is that you have practiced case studies across all major industries and case study question types with peers.

I'd like to also add that, a couple of prep platforms have some really good and high quality cases and case banks. 

Don't need to look too far even, on PrepLounge there are many great ones written by coaches here :)

100% agree with Ian. Case books have become outdated and irrelevant. Use them to warm up but dont rely heavily/too much.
