Job posting deleted after final round interviews

As described in the title, the job posting I applied to has now been deleted after my final rounds. Any indication on what that means with MBB? Decision still hasn’t been communicated to me directly.

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on going through the entire application process!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • I would advise you to not read anything into the job posting being removed. This often happens when the consulting firm has collected enough candidates or is simply updating the position. It’s typically not connected to your individual outcome.

You can find more on this topic here: How to deal with a rejection from a consulting company.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

It’s hard to say, but it probably means that after this round of interviews (which you participated in) they’re expecting to fill the post for the time being.

It’s unlikely to mean that the job itself is actually gone, so I’d just sit tight and occasionally follow up with your recruiters.

Best of luck.

It’s not necessarily a bad sign. MBB often removes job postings after final rounds to close the application cycle. It doesn’t indicate your outcome, decisions are usually communicated separately. Hang tight and wait for the official update.

Hi there,

It means that they have either decided, or they believe they will be able to decide based on the applicants they have interviewed until now.

If you haven't heard back already, try not to read too much into it. They could still write. Perhaps it just takes longer for them to reach a decision.

Best,

Probably means they have enough candidates for now and don't see a need to keep inviting more people to interview. It doesn't mean the process is over, but means they will not take another batch of candidates.
