Is there an exit from MBB Dubai to Asset Management/SWFs?

I've been offered a position at BCG Dubai recently, with the help of two partners from my school. If I'm 100% honest I would say I applied as a plan B in the first place. I am also offered a position in commercial real estate credit research in London.

My biggest priority is moving into Asset Management in the future - I couldn't recruit right out of MSc due to the extremely limited seats. My question here is, could it be possible to leverage experience from BCG to move into Asset Management or a Sovereign Wealth Fund also in the region? Would it make sense to go back to school for an MBA to make the move?

I'm currently studying for CFA level 3 while doing my masters at a top European university, with internships mostly in fixed income/rates trading. Would highly appreciate your insight. Thank you.

Hey there,

Definitely possible. When I was 13 months at McKinsey, I got a headhunter offer for a sovereign wealth fund in the region, and my EM at that time got an offer at the same fund for a higher position.

I don't think you need an MBA for that move but it could potentially help.

All the best!

Cheers,

Florian

Hi there,

Definitely possible. Of course, a lot of this is on you as well (the projects you push for while there, the networking you do, the way you setup your LinkedIn profile, etc.).

Yes, definitively an option, and I don't think you need an MBA (but it is a good plan B option). MBB is respected and sometimes they actually look for ex-consultants for certain posicions (actually, I was recently invited to recruit for one of those funds).
