Is it okay to send an email asking for feedback to interviewer?

I made to final round interviews at BCG but they sent those notifications through email so I didn’t have a chance to ask for feedback. Is it okay to reach out to my interviewer and ask? I know some people ask the recruiter but I haven’t had any contact with them besides the general mass emails they’ve sent and they also were not in the intereview so not sure if they would even have that information. I already sent a thank you email to my interviewer the day after and they responded very nicely saying to let them know how the rest of the process goes and they’re there if they have any questions so I feel like it’s okay right? I’m definitely overthinking here haha but in terms of time as well it’s currently 6:30pm, should I wait to send until tomorrow or does it really not matter?

Hi there,
You can send it, but manage your expectations. BCG interviewers rarely give meaningful feedback. They are busy and legally constrained from sharing real notes. The polite email you got was just that—polite. If you want real feedback, hire a coach. We are the only ones who will actually tell you what you did wrong. Waiting until tomorrow will not change a thing. At the end of the day, send it if it helps you sleep, but do not expect value. If you want to actually improve, work through Ace the Case Interview or set up a coaching session where you will get real feedback.

Hi there,

It is better to ask the recruiting team. Only if you have waited for long and don't hear anything from recruiting team, you maybe can send email to the interviewer to politely ask if they can help to nudge the process (not directly asking the detailed feedback to them).

By right, following the recruiting process, the interviewers are not supposed to tell you directly the feedback, without recruiting team knowing. There might be some who forgot to follow the right process sometimes, but don't put your interviewer in that position.

Best,

Emily

Hi,

I would suggest to go through the recruiters instead.

This is because the recruiters can then coordinate between the 2 first round interviewers and give you a feedback that summarizes performances of both interviews, and not just one.

Go through the recruiters.

If you receive an answer from the recruiters but not feedback, and then if you ask for feedback and they don't provide it, then consider going to the consultants. But even then, try to be polite and not pushy. It's not part of their role and typically they are encouraged to not provide feedback directly.

Best,

Cristian

Hi there,

I recommend you going through the recruiter as normally interviewers are not supposed to share feedback unless agreed upon internally.

Hi! Since your interviewer politely mentioned that you can let them know how the rest of the process goes, you can send them an email stating the outcome and that you will connect with the recruiting team to receive any potential feedback as you continue to be excited about BCG!
