Invited to a case training session AFTER AN INTERVIEW

Hello everyone,

I applied at McK and already completed my first-round interview last week. While i am waiting for the result, I received an invitation from McK for a case training session via ZOOM.

I looked for explanation online and a lot got this invitation BEFORE the interview. I am confused. Does this mean I passed the first-round?

This seems odd for sure. Best bet is to ask HR and see why you this was the case. I agree that this happens before the first round interviews not after.

Hello!

You are right: usually they schedule those before the 1st round of interviews -I used to conduct them myself in the Madrid office.

It could very well be a scheduling mistake, or if you didn´t have one, them giving you the chance to do it now. In any case, I would totally go.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara

Hi there,

Two things:

1) You can always just email the recruiter to ask if the invitation was intended to be sent prior to the first round or was intentional

2) I think only a direct call saying you passed is a clear indication that you passed.  Unfortunately, you shouldn't read anything into this.

Hope this helps,

Allen

Hi there,

The mostly likely scenario is that this is just system-based and unrelated to your interview.

I used to build IT systems…there's likely a timer/trigger build into the code that pulls x applicants on x date, and it hasn't been coded to check x.

That said, it could also be a positive sign.

Ultimately, you should check with the people who know and run your interviews - HR!

I did check with HR and this is merely for every applicant regardless of the stage. The aim is to prepare candidates for "both current and future interview."

So I imply that I am still in the league yet haven't succeeded to the final round. And, the training is to just engage me while waiting for the result which could be either pass or fail :/
