Inquiry about my application status – Senior Expert, Risk & Compliance Consulting @BCG

Good morning everyone,

on October 17th I applied for a Senior Expert – Risk & Compliance Consulting position at BCG Italy.

Do you know how long it usually takes to receive feedback after submitting an application?

Thank you in advance for any insights you might share.

Hi there,

It is quite difficult to say exactly how long it takes these firms to respond to applications - it unfortunately differs quite substantially by region, firm and just timing (e.g., the office in question may have a lot of applications all of a sudden, or one of the recruiters may be out sick).

That said, based on my experience (with McK, not BCG to be fair), I know that these firms always strive for efficiency in their recruiting process, and a rule of thumb for McK at least is to try to always respond to candidates within 1 month at a maximum. They do strive to be faster than this on average, but the 1 month timeline is the deadline they try to not exceed.

I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Thor

It can take anywhere from a few days to 3-4 weeks.

If you're reaching one month since you submitted the application and haven't heard back, then follow-up with them politely.

And in the meantime, keep on applying to other firms. If you're looking for an application strategy that ensures you maximise your chances of getting an offer, this guide might come in handy:

hey there :)

It usually takes around 2–4 weeks to hear back from BCG, though it can vary depending on the office and role. Since it’s been about two weeks, you’re still within the normal range, if you don’t hear anything by next week, it’s fine to send a short, polite follow-up.

best, Alessa :)
