• First of all, this sounds very frustrating, but from experience it usually looks worse than it is; most likely there was a logistics or system slip on their side, or the specific role got frozen, and it is rarely a reflection of your performance since you already passed the initial intervierw round well.
• Moreover, I would advise you to keep it fully professional and not burn the bridge; send one calm and short written message to the recruiter and, if no reply, to the recruiting team inbox or another contact, simply asking for clarity on the status and whether you can be considered for the next relevant opening.
• Lastly, in parallel I would stronlgy advise you to apply to other consulting firms as well to maximize your chances of receiving at least one offer.

That's a rough way to be treated by anyone. But the first thing I'd say is: this almost certainly wasn't your fault.

When something moves like that after you've already been confirmed, it's usually not a performance rejection. It's much more often something structural behind the scenes, the role got frozen, headcount was pulled, or the req simply closed and swept everyone out automatically. And that vague "I tried to reach you" with nothing in your call logs or inbox to back it up? That sounds a lot like someone smoothing over an internal drop, not giving you a real decision.

So here's what I'd do. Stop chasing this recruiter, she's clearly leading you nowhere. Instead, send one calm, friendly email asking what actually happened and whether you can be considered for similar roles. Ask directly about reapplying too. And if you know anyone inside who referred you, lean on them, they'll often get you the real story far faster.

Try to hold onto this: you cleared the round. That says something real about you, and it travels with you to the next one

The confirmation that you were selected, plus the preparatory emails, means you had already cleared the bar and were inside the pipeline, so this is most likely a process failure on their side.

I’d send a final message to the recruiter, acknowledging the voicemail, noting that you never received the earlier outreach, and asking directly whether the role has been closed, paused, or could be picked up again. If it is still open, she will tell you; and if not, you might be reconsidered if it opens again (or you might look for it in another office).

That does sounds frustrating. And it sounds like you've followed-up multiple times. 

Try one more time if you'd like to and then it would be worth to let it go. Sometimes opportunities also get lost 'in translation' and there's not much you can do about it. 

It would make sense to focus on other opportunities now.
