I got my online assessment almost 3 months ago at Whiteshield. Since then I haven’t heard from them though HR used to send rejection emails for the roles I applied for and I don’t qualify based on nationality . I sent a follow up email and also didn’t hear back ? Is that normal?

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing — that does sound frustrating, and I can imagine how the silence feels after waiting so long. Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon in consulting recruiting, especially with smaller or regional firms like Whiteshield, for communication to slow down or even go silent, particularly if they’ve put hiring on hold or filled the role without formally closing it.

The fact that you received the online assessment is a good sign — it means you were being seriously considered. If HR was responsive before but stopped replying after your follow-up, it’s possible the role no longer matches their current hiring needs, or they’re facing internal delays.

In the meantime, don’t let this discourage you. Keep applying and networking elsewhere — sometimes the best opportunities show up while you’re waiting on others. You’re doing the right thing by following up and staying proactive.

Wishing you all the best — feel free to message if you ever want help reviewing your application or strategy.

Best,

Evelina

Hi,

Yes, unfortunately, this kind of silence can be quite common, especially with firms that have complex regional or nationality-based hiring constraints like Whiteshield. Here are two quick points:

– If nationality has been a disqualifier in past applications, it’s possible they’ve internally deprioritized your candidacy without updating the portal
Three months of silence after an assessment usually indicates a rejection, even if no formal notice was sent

You’ve done the right thing by following up. At this stage, it’s best to move forward with other opportunities while keeping the door open.

Best of luck!

Hello there!

Yes, regrettably that's typical of companies such as Whiteshield, slow or no follow-up can be the case, especially if there are positions suspended or on hold due to in-house reasons. If you have followed up and still not been contacted, your chances are very low of advancing. Time to focus elsewhere.

Best, Alessa

3 months is a long wait.

Yes, do send a polite follow-up email asking for an update on your application.

It should help give you a sense of what's going on. Try not to read too much into it for now.

Best,
Cristian

I had a final round interview for a manager role at a tier 2 company. HR said feedback was positive but they’d assess other candidates too. It’s been 10 days with no update. Is this normal or should I take it as a silent rejection and move on?
