How to tackle the situation

Hello everyone,

I have been invited to take the BCG test for an office in Europe.

However, while networking one of the partners (US office) has looped in the recruiter and she told me to apply on the website.

1 - Should I consider this as a referral (US office one)?

2 - Should I tell the recruiter (US office) that I already got invited to take the test at one of the Europe offices?

3 - I do not have a US visa. So I guess I should go to the Europe office. Also, I have strong ties with Europe but still would love to know your opinion.

4 - Has the visa situation has improved in the US? The situation is under control in the US in terms of covid so would love to know if anybody has any idea about that.

Hi there,

Not sure what happened here but you need to be clearer with Partner's in the future! This is a bit of a tricky situation as you have sort of "wasted" the Partner's time.

That said, don't fret, you've been invited to take the test in Europe which is great news!

You need to tell the Partner thank you, and respond to the recruiter telling them you've actually already been invited to test in Europe but appreciate their note.

You should continue with Europe and politely decline the US referral.

Hello!

If you dont´ahve a US visa and with how things are atm, it´s practically impossible.

I would go ahead with the European workstream as the one that is most promising tbh, and also continue with the US referral -but talk to the HR person by the side to clarify the situation and ask for advise on next steps-.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara
